Who are we? SAFCI was formed with support from the Department of Science and Technology to co-ordinate the drawing up of a national fuel cell strategy. Currently there are significant but fragmented local fuel cell activities in R&D (in areas such as catalysts, membrane electrode assemblies, fuel production etc.) as well as systems development and installation for certain niche applications. There is a clear need for a representative body to co-ordinate these activities to ensure we gain the most benefit for South Africa. SAFCI comprises of a variety of stakeholders covering the power generation
industry, mining houses, fuel cell suppliers, fuel producers, government,
research institutions and universities. |
